In response to this post on F*ck my life, Jimmy posted this comment:
actually if you were to grow up in the 2000’s you would learn that when someone is called a pimp it’s a complement and no way degrading of character. you need to get out of your cave and get little more familiar with the world of pop culture.
Shawn and Corey: The only bromance I can get behind.
Months ago I wrote this comment on Jezebel:
I actually stopped talking to an acquaintance because she did that. I mean really Carrie’s insight [on] Berger’s post-it touched you that much?
The “that” I was referring to was people quoting SATC in aim away messages as seriously as they would some Donne. Now did I really stop talking to said acquaintance? No. But did I keep it in the back of my head? Yes. Anyway this inspired the first “e-pebble” someone threw at me:
Hey, that’s my sister you’re talking about. She’s obsessed with SATC, insists on going to Magnolia Bakery every time she comes to New York, and yet she’s still hilarious and great and grounded. Judging someone based on blind love of SATC is a little misguided, I think.
Carrie Bradshaw voiceovers: leading cause of internet tiffs.
Watching tv and being annoyed by a voiceover during some episode of Sex and the City or Scrubs is I’m sure not a foreign feeling, but for whatever reason, this gem from the Grey’s Anatomy pilot is when I took a personal stance against such writing tools (thoughts otherwise obtuse laid significant) :
MVO: There comes a moment when … it’s more than just a game.

MVO: And you either take that step forward. Or turn around and walk away.
[ surgery action shots]
MVO: I could quit. But here’s the thing. I love the playing field.
